Eyelash extensions are made of a synthetic material that is molded to properly adhere to your natural lashes with a fine polished tip, which gives a natural look. They are applied on existing natural lashes with a medical grade, 100% formaldehyde free, black and clear adhesive. These are applied one by one by a licensed trained beauty technician, with the number being applied anywhere form 25 to 65 lashes per eye, depending on the lusciousness that the client wants.
Different thicknesses of lashes are available, with the thicker lash giving a fuller look. Because every person's lashes differ, the technician will assess whether the clients present natural lash will sustain the weight of the lash to be applied and will accordingly apply that which suits best. With skilled application and proper maintenance and care, your extensions will serve you well for at least 4 to 6 weeks.
The turnover time for natural lashes is 60 to 90 days, so due to this fact, touch-ups are done every 2 to 4 weeks. Black lashes are used in most applications but highlights are available from subtle colors for clients with blonde or highlighted hair to a touch of auburn for redheads, and then for the more adventurous - purple, green or blue are available.
Lash extensions will not damage your natural lashes, but some clients could benefit by removal of all extensions so as to give their natural lashes a rest after several months so that re-growth can catch up and even out.
